Step1
Measure and cut (using the built-in cutter of the clamping tool) a length of stainless steel strap to suit the clamping requirement.
As a guide, a single-wrapped clamp usually measures 3 1/2 times and a double-wrapped application 7 times the diameter of the combined objects to be clamped. Add an additional 5" - 7" (depending on the application) to allow for locking and clamping tool operation.

|
Step 2
Insert one end of the stainless steel band through the stainless buckle-bridge until approximately 2" of the band extends from the buckle-ears.
Fold the 2" extension underneath the buckle as shown. To prevent any pull-out during tensioning, ensure that the fold is sharp and that the folded end follows the same direction as the remainder of the stainless steel band.

Step 3
Wrap the remaining stainless steel strapping around the object(s) to be clamped and thread the end through the buckle-bridge as shown.
For double-wrapped applications, repeat a second wrap and thread the end through the buckle-bridge.
The clamp is now ready to be tensioned and locked.

|
Step 4
Depress the clamping tool gripping lever and guide the band through the side-slot of the clamping tool nose and gripping block.
Ensure that the cutter lever is flush against the clamping tool during this step.

Step 5
Tension the stainless steel strapping by turning the clamping tool handle as shown. Maximum tension has been applied when the band no longer slides through the buckle-bridge.
Roll the clamping tool over the buckle and pull the cutting lever to remove the excess banding.
|
|
Step 6
Remove the clamping tool while pushing down on the stub of the stainless steel band between the buckles-ears. Hammer the buckle-ears down and over the stub to lock the clamp in place.
This step completes the stainless steel clamp application.
